Main settings
The setting gives you the reader an idea of where (Pangea) and what time period(around the 1960's) the book is set. It also describes the main places in the book and gives you detail of what it look likes.
One of the main settings is the beach. this is Sephy and Cullum's special place where they can go to and get away from all of the people that believe that noughts and Crosses should never be together because they're simply not alike. The beach belongs to Sephy's parents, it is their private beach. But her family never goes down there so that's where her and Cullum hang out. I would describe the beach as a long stretch of sand going from one coast line to the other. It has an old fence that's falling down, with an opening where Sephy and Cullum can squeeze through. I could imagine there is a lush green grassy bank that stretches along with the sand, also massive trees with branches that stretch out wide that shade a little bit of Sephy and Cullum's paradise.
Another main setting is the prison, it is an old run down place with huge walls that don't let the sun light seep through. the prison is dark and damp and has a depressing effect on anyone who walks in. This is a place were the noughts don't get any justice, they are thrown in this misery hole for basically the rest of their life, or all they have left of it.
